What am I forgetting?

Guests are invited (invitations are have been ordered, proofed and mailed, Beverages have been purchased, Menu planned (or B&A has been called), Tables, Chairs, Entertainment  scheduled–I feel like something  is missing -  what have I forgotten? Absolutely nothing if B&A is catering, but if I am doing this party on my own…..something is missing. What are we going to eat with and on and drink out of? Imagine a party without plates, napkins, forks and glassware.

Cocktail Party - Order 2.5 glasses per person, 2 sets of silverware per person (or look at your menu, if you are serving 2 or more items that need a fork – order 3 forks per person), 2.5 plates per person.

Seated Dinner  - 2 knifes(salad and entrée), 3 forks(salad, dinner and dessert), 1 spoon (coffee and/or dessert)

Buffet – rolled silverware – knife, 2 forks, spoon

Seated Buffet – the table should be set as if it were a plated seated meal.

Glassware needs are basically the same for a seated dinner or buffet:

Glassware - Water, tea, 2 wine(if wine is served for a cocktail hour prior to your meal), champagne – if served, 1.5 per person rocks glass if you are serving liquor during the cocktail hour

Don’t forget the napkins….2 ply paper , Dinner – cloth or paper
